We are Emma, Antonina, and Hanna, and Thought for Food is our project for the "Planetary Health and the Symbiotic City" course at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
We are international students based in Amsterdam, coming from diverse backgrounds, including cultural studies and AI. What brings us together is our shared passion for sustainability and our ambition to drive meaningful change.
Throughout the course led by Remco Kort and Hans Ossebaard, we learned about many approaches to contributing to symbiotic cities. Specialists from various fields gave insightful lectures, which inspired our project, each one in its respective way.
Through this website, we wish to increase consciousness surrounding food waste, specifically in the Netherlands. We provide reasons for it, focusing on the way urban societies relate to nature, as well as solutions and tips to help reduce its harmful effects.
